Roots of Truth

Of all the ways it could have went but didn’t
I miss the ignorance the most.
The day I took the time to taste an apple I realized none of this is real.
That the bitterness of our fruits is too much to bear.
With all its youth stripped away, I admire the roots
From which I came.
As my own roots give way to truth I watch the swaying wane.
